Description
UGREEN 40189 has a single HDMI input and no HDMI output, so the picture only shows on the computer, tablet or phone it is plugged into. It records at up to 1080p 30fps. PS5 and PS4 need HDCP turned off in settings, and DVD players and other HDCP-protected sources cannot be captured.
For recording a camera, a presentation or a Switch tutorial, 30 frames per second is plenty, and this pocket-sized capture card keeps things simple. It takes an HDMI signal of up to 4K 60Hz, scales it down and records at 1080p 30fps over USB, with no drivers or external power.
Key Features of the UGREEN 1080P 30FPS HDMI Capture Card
- 4K 60Hz In, 1080p 30fps Out: Accepts sources up to 4K at 60Hz and captures video and audio together at up to 1080p 30fps over USB 2.0.
- USB-C With a USB-A Adapter: The lead ends in a USB-C plug with an attached USB-A adapter, so it suits laptops, desktops, tablets and Android phones.
- Driver-Free and Bus Powered: Recognised as a standard USB video device and powered entirely from the USB port.
- Works With Common Software: OBS Studio, XSplit, PotPlayer and QuickTime Player, on Windows, Linux, Android and iPadOS 17 or later.
- Aluminium Shell: A light metal housing of about 20g that slips into a laptop bag.
- Reset Pinhole: If the computer reports an abnormal video format, pressing the reset hole restores the picture.
A sensible fit for classroom recording, camera streaming and casual console clips rather than fast-paced 60fps gameplay.
