Older couplers were built for HDMI 2.0, and one of those in the chain can quietly cap a PS5 or graphics card at 4K 60Hz. This HDMI 2.1 coupler is rated for 8K at 60Hz and 4K at 120Hz, so extending a high refresh setup does not mean giving up the refresh rate.
