Description

Valve built the Steam Controller around a single idea: give players every input they need to play everything in their Steam library, on whatever hardware they happen to be sitting in front of.

Twin magnetic thumbsticks using TMR sensors sit above a pair of pressure-sensitive haptic trackpads, so keyboard-and-mouse titles like strategy games and fast-paced shooters feel as natural here as anything built for a gamepad.

Grip Sense is the headline addition. Capacitive sensors on the rear grips switch gyro aiming on the moment you tighten your hold and off again when you relax, and the input can be remapped exactly like any other button.

The bundled Puck does double duty as a low-latency 2.4 GHz wireless transmitter and as a charging dock that snaps onto the back of the pad magnetically. Bluetooth and wired USB-C are supported as well, with roughly 35 hours of play between charges.

Because the layout matches Steam Deck input for input, thousands of community configurations are available through Steam Input from day one, and four remappable grip buttons plus high definition rumble round the package off.
